If you have never hosted on-site massage before, the logistics sound heavier than they are. Here is exactly how a day runs from setup to last session.
The space you need
A quiet corner with roughly 6 x 6 feet per chair is enough. A conference room, unused office, break room, or training room all work. There is no power, water, or special flooring requirement. Semi-private is ideal — most people prefer not to be massaged in the middle of an open floor.
Setup and teardown
- Therapists arrive early to set up chairs, linens, and sanitizing supplies.
- Setup takes about fifteen minutes; teardown is faster.
- Everything is carried in — no freight elevator required for a standard booking.
How sessions run
Employees stay fully clothed. No oils or lotions are used. Sessions are typically ten to fifteen minutes and focus on the neck, shoulders, back, arms, and hands — the areas that take the most punishment from desks, driving, and standing work.
The questions employees always ask
- Do I need to change clothes? No. Come exactly as you are.
- Will I be oily or rumpled afterward? No oils are used, so you can head straight back to a meeting.
- What if I have an injury or a health condition? Tell the therapist at the start; they will adjust pressure and areas accordingly.
- Is tipping expected? It is never required. Many employers cover the full cost as a benefit.
The most common feedback after a first session: people are surprised how much a fully clothed, fifteen-minute seated massage changes the rest of their day.
